an observatory of selective attention

Event-reaction grids

When a qualifying event occurs, we publish a 72-hour reaction grid showing what each of the 12 indexed leaders said — verbatim — and who stayed silent. Published in real time, not retroactively.

Kwara massacre, Nigeria — 162+ dead in Boko Haram attacks on villages of Woro and Nuku

12/12 leaders silent within the 72-hour window. None of the indexed accounts — from any political camp — published a single tweet about one of the deadliest attacks in Nigeria in months.
